We all know that January is the first month of the year. It’s also the month where people start with their ‘New Year’s resolution‘ like promising to lose all the holiday weight that they’ve gained. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Speaking of holidays, waking up to a piping hot breakfast in the morning is one of the things that most of us look forward to! But, what if you’re just too tired to cook or it’s already noon when you woke up and you still wanted to eat breakfast? Worry not my dear readers! I know a perfect place for your breakfast cravings! Say hello to Little Owl!
The newest cafe in the neighborhood is currently on soft opening. The Little Owl serves all-day breakfast, pasta, desserts, drinks with a twist and other yummy dishes. The place has big windows and looks small outside but once inside, you’ll fall in love with their light and breezy interiors! They have ample parking and is near a hospital, parishes, schools and other establishments. It’s a perfect place to chill out and relax by yourself or with your friends. Don’t forget to bring your favorite book or gadget to make chilling feel more at home!
PS: They have Wi-Fi too! (≧∇≦)/
Since it’s very accessible and truly cozy, I’m sure it’s going to be one of the go-to cafes in the area. SO, let’s get started with the yummy dishes that we’ve tried! o(^▽^)o ❤
–Romaine, arugula & bacon lardons tossed in caesar dressing
The romaine lettuce and other ingredients were grilled for the ‘char’ flavor and it really tastes good! It’s still crunchy and green with that certain grilly flavor. The creamy caesar dressing and bacon is boosting up the flavor of the salad.
–With maple flavoured syrup
When this was brought out, I thought it was english muffins because of its thickness! It wasn’t that fluffy anymore by the time we’re done with the photos and tastes like it has bananas but they told me that there’s none (except for the banana fritas at the side). They also told us that they’ve added egg whites in the pancake batter to make it fluffy.
–Eggs poached in tomato sauce with whipped cheese served with toast
Shakshuka is a middle eastern dish and is made of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, chili peppers, and onions, often spiced with cumin. What can I say? I reallllly love tomatoes! It’s good and very yummy! I think it would be really more awesome if we were able to mix and eat it right away while it was still hot. This dish is good for sharing and perfect for those health buffs. :>
–With caramelized onions served with fries
So you like cheese huh? Then you should definitely not miss this! This light meal is fully packed with awesome cheeses! It’s made of cheddar, mozzarella and gruyère cheese! We had another plate of this for our table because it’s too yummy! (ﾉ≧∀≦)ﾉ
**Gruyère is a hard yellow cheese, named after the town of Gruyères in Switzerland**
–Served with scrambled eggs & fondue
Okay, this dish has magic because it disappeared right away after we tasted it. IT’S SO DELICIOUS! (ﾉ｡≧◇≦)ﾉ We all love the creamy, buttery egg with the roasted veggies and mixed mushroom! This is also one of my favorites and it’s definitely a must try!
–With apple marmalade served w/eggs of choice
Look at that meat… it’s truly, truly, truly… THICK! It’s so flavorful and irresistible! The scrambled egg is creamy and fluffy! If you’re not fond of scrambled eggs or fried rice, you can change it to two sunny side up eggs and/or two french toasts! ヾ（〃＾∇＾）ﾉ♪
–Tossed in bacon & parmesan cream topped with poached egg
Their carbonara may look and taste differently than the usual carbonaras from fast food restaurants because their recipe is the true version of carbonara. Having said that, what they are offering is a traditional carbonara. The parmesan cream tastes just right and it goes well with the bacon but I think it needs more parmesan cream because it’s not that tasty anymore after mixing the sauce with pasta.
–Served with feta cheese and pesto, arugula & toast
It looks like a marshmallow but it’s actually a fluffy egg white! It’s so soft and the serving is big. The pesto and cheese goes well with the egg white.
–Dark chocolate ganache served on flaky crust with whipped cream
I love chocolates especially when it’s dark! The sea salt on top is perfect too! The complexity of the dark chocolate was enhanced because of the added saltiness of the sea salt on it.
–Tangy, sweet calamansi curd on flaky crust
This sweet and sour tart is actually nice and unique. The native lemon‘s sourness will make you put a sour face and after that, will soothe you back with its sweet side! It’s something you should try if you’re looking for something different with your dessert!
–Served with whipped cream
The pecans are soft to chew and goes well with the apple filling of the tart. The tart’s crust is tasty and very soft!
Just like its name, it’s refreshing! The taste of orange, carrots and ginger created a distinct taste. Perfect for health buffs!
The coffee that they use are from Toby’s estate. They say that the latte is good and is somewhat bitter. A teaspoon or two of sugar should probably fix the bitterness.
–Shot espresso, vodka, caribbean rhum & amaretto
I don’t really know how this mix would taste(because I can’t drink coffee) but they said that it’s smooth and tastes good. You can both taste the espresso and vodka well.
–Green apple, cucumber, calamansi, vodka, wine and soda
This is one of the best sellers for the cocktails. The other two are the espresso cocktail and pink owl. I wasn’t able to try this so I’m not sure how this one tastes. （。＞ω＜）。
